Building Information Modeling (BIM)

Using BIM, we take the process of generating and managing building data to the next level by ensuring the model works through preconstruction, construction, and the lifespan of the project.

Evaluate Construction Before It Happens

As construction schedules shorten, BIM becomes crucial in coordinating trades and prefab assemblies to accommodate modern day construction timelines. Using BIM, we create a model that shows visualizations, logistics planning, constructability analysis, clash detection and more. These visualizations allow the project team to communicate design intent in a 3D environment.

Benefits of using BIM

  • Enhanced communication
  • Increased collaboration
  • Cost savings due to error reduction
  • Faster processes & shortened construction schedules
  • Quality control
  • Accurate As-builts

At the new ICU tower in Bozeman, our coordination with Williams in early detection for clash potential between MEP systems was crucial. What we accomplished in a couple hours of BIM meetings, we saved months in field coordination.

Virtual Design & Construction

Virtual design and construction (VDC) helps Williams deliver projects in an integrated and Lean approach.

3D Laser Scanning / Point Cloud Data

We offer our clients one point of contact for all their reality capture needs. Williams operates a Trimble TX6 3D Laser Scanner. A high-density scanner of this magnitude provides accurate as-build dimensions, virtual tours, and improves quality control.

In-House Capabilities

  • 3D high density scanning
  • 3D visual tours
  • BIM coordination
  • Augmented reality
  • Prefabrication-ready models
  • Reality capture

One location took two people about three-and-a-half hours to measure, while Williams’ 3D scanner accomplished the same task in 5 minutes. It’s a huge benefit for as-built drawings and verifying field data.

3D Earthwork Modeling

Our in-house team provides 3D earthwork modeling services to accurately takeoff and estimate construction quantities, model efficient construction processes, and measure progress throughout the construction life cycle. These models are exported to our intelligent machines to ensure quality control in the field.

Drone Flight Survey

Williams utilizes drone survey to obtain accurate survey data without the need for multiple cumbersome ground control points. Our survey-grade field data can be collected for an entire site in as little as 30 minutes. With daily or weekly drone flights, our construction team has on-demand visual history of all construction activity. This enables us to calculate cut-and-fill volumes and track progress to keep our customers informed.

Benefits of 3D Earthwork Modeling

  • Project layout and planning
  • Quantity verification
  • On-demand surveys
  • Field verification
  • Quality control
  • Keep our customer’s mind’s at ease

Williams drone survey helps verify quantities, so there are no surprises on bid day. It gives me peace-of-mind not relying on outdated plans.

Prefabrication

Our company understands that prefabrication is a requirement to meet the construction schedules of the modern project.

Williams owns a 3,000sf prefabrication facility in Bozeman along with outside sources in Salt Lake City, Spokane, Boise, and Idaho Falls. This allows a majority of the work to be completed in a controlled, atmospheric environment which increases quality control of the final product. Our prefabrication facilities are state-of-the-art and leverage the most advanced equipment and processes available.

Benefits of Prefabrication

  • Job site safety
  • Quality control systems
  • Work area congestion
  • Accelerated schedules
  • Multi-trade racking
  • Schedule control
  • Job clean-up
  • Welding procedures and certificates
